About Me
I am classically trained and work as a peripatetic music teacher, teaching the classical guitar. I have been writing music for as long as I can remember and work at home from my own studio. I always have several projects on the go and am quite prolific.
I studied music in Italy, as well as at university in Wales (Bangor and Aberystwyth) and this training has helped me very much. In the 80s, I also studied guitar with Oliver Hunt, Professor of guitar at London College of Music and harmony of music with the English composer, Dr Antony Milner, from which I learned a great deal. From a composition point of view, I am mainly self taught. After I learned how to use harmony, I have been searching for my own style.
My style is influenced by minimalism (the repetitive aspect), electronic music (the use of different sounds to convey mood) and jazz, which I love and which is reflected in the use both of the guitar and the harmony.
I have been performing solo and in a group but don't currently do this, as I prefer to concentrate on composing. However, if I met the right people I would certainly be interested in exploring this.
My latest project is called 'Images'. In this project I have tried to find my own idiomatic style and I purposely edited one slow track followed by a faster track, as a contrast.
